回朔至1996年甫出道的Matchbox20，以首张专辑《Yourself Or Someone Like You》作为投石问路的创业作，但却没能立即引起乐迷广泛注意，直到1997年春天，推出单曲“Push”后，马上情势大逆转的将他们知名度扶摇直上，接着一连串的好评锋涌而至，各媒体杂志纷纷标出“年度最佳”等头衔，连创作核心Rob Thomas也因其散发之迷人气质，获选《People》杂志“50名全球最美丽的人物”。
1999年Rob助阵Santana重新复出的首波单曲“Smooth”，不仅再次缔造2位音乐人事业高峰，更在乐界传为一段佳话，千禧年所推出的第二张专辑《Mad Season》，首波冲上Billboard流行单曲榜冠军“Bent”，成为他们第一支跨入主流界NO.1作品，接着“If You Gone”获全美词曲协会颁发“年度最佳流行歌曲”奖项，光2张专辑在全球却早已突破2千万张销售量。背负着各界殷切企盼与队员彼此更求好心切的理念下，终在2002年6月进了录音室，交出第三张大碟《More Than You Think You Are》！
此次的录制搭配Rob依然包办大半创作部分，并再次邀请同为前2张作品操刀的制作人Matt Serletic (Santana、Aerosmith)，以及摇滚界名录音，混音师Greg Collins (System Of A Down、Red Hot Chili Peppers)及Jim Scott (Foo Fighters、Wilco)等人助阵，迷恋于70年代摇滚风味，配入迪斯科复古之愉悦节拍及弦乐的搭衬，就是此次Matchbox 20首支单曲“Disease”所散发出的摇摆粒子，此作是Rob与Mick Jagger合写，原本要收在Mick发行的个人专辑中，但Mick写完却直接说“那歌听来很有你的味道，那是你的歌！”这也是Rob认为他们目前为止最活泼愉悦之作。加入唱诗班福音曲调的憾人之作“Downfall”；而“Unwell”及“All I Need”在保有清晰且流畅的旋律下，辅以前曲加入French Horns伴奏，后者吉他强力弦音贯穿全曲，与Rob迷人嗓音同时?群埃?相应竞技。由鼓手Paul Doucette独立谱写动听小品“Could I Be You”，本来是要放在他自己个人专辑中，但被Rob意重，才改收至此辑里头。多首独具风格曲式安排及怀旧调性中不失顺畅有致的音色感触下，这次Matchbox 20会让你大出意料！作者: 哭哭吧！ 时间: 2005-3-15 08:15:18
